I use google translate for a variety of things, most commonly pasting in
the URL of a page I want to read in English. (Most commonly from a Japanese
site, but many other places as well.)

Unfortunately for me, I have also at various times translated words into
languages other than English.

This means an extremely common problem for me is that I paste in the URL,
the auto-detection guesses that the URL is in English because many site
addresses look kinda English-y even though they are foreign, and therefore
decides that obviously I want to translate English into something else, and
automatically changes my settings. So while the page said Japanese ->
English when I pasted in the URL, by the time I hit the translate button it
has 'helpfully' changed my settings to something like English -> Greek, and
then the resulting page comes out as nonsense.

I can bypass this by turning off instant translation, but surely I can't be
the only person this happens to?
