Recently, the Malaysian Minister of Defence blamed Google Translate for the atrocious English used on the website of the Malaysian Ministry of Defence. I have attached a link to the story here: http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2012/1/10/nation/20120110074210&sec=nation.
Of course, being Malaysian, I am both tickled pink and also concerned. My question is, would Google Translate be legally liable for any grievances, loss of property, etc that may arise from the atrocious English used on the said website which was a direct result of using Google Translate to translate? In any case, would Google Translate defend itself against the allegations raised by the Malaysian Ministry of Defence?
