IE8 will not even display the translate bar in IE8 on several of my computers with various versions of Windows operating system. The problem seems to be in the element accessing the js file from the google server. An error that the URL below is not accessible is displayed in the script debugger:
http://translate.googleapis.com/translate_static/js/element/7/element_main.js If you paste this URL into a browser, Firefox can access the JavaScript file but IE 8 cannot.
