You're fully right my friend. Same thing for Bosnian and all other ex Yugoslav languages except for Slovenian and Macedonian, I guess. If it is Latin charset and if it looks like Serbo - Croatian (the language we all used while ago), Google will mark it as Croatian, which is bad. The real thing that bothers me is even if you change language in translate bar in Google chrome, it will still offer do not translate original language anymore. For example, if I go to blic.rs which is Serbian daily newspaper site, chrome will offer do not translate Croatian anymore. When I change this page is not in Croatian, but Serbian, chrome will still offer an option not to translate Croatian anymore, which is silly, isn't it?
I would not be that radical to say that all pages *.sr should be considered as Serbian language. You can have *.sr page in English, for example. But all pages *.sr that are identified bu current engine as Croatian, should be Serbian, same for Bosnian. I'm sure this is what you wanted to state, but just to clarify :).
