Much of the time, Google Translate simply leaves out portions of the 
sentence. Sometimes it seems to reach pretty far for a translation (e.g., 
"UN" for "Council", despite their being no context suggesting the UN). On 
the main Google Translate page, it's often hard to suggest a better 
translation (e.g., when the translated text is large). Presumably the 
translation base is poor. I understand why the UN comes in, since that's 
the base, but it appears that the algorithm is also pretty poor. Useful and 
free, but always needs close checking even when just reading material (not 
preparing something important).
