1. Reverse Translate United States.
Google Translate from English to Hebrew United States = ארצות הברית No problem. In Hebrew actual translation is ארצות = lands, states הברית = the covenant, alliance Placing הברית back for Hebrew to English translation we get Alliance No problem Placing הברית back for Hebrew to English translation we get United Big problem, because ארצ (eretz) is land like eretz Israel means land of Israel. ארצות (arzot) is plural. Therefore, Google translate is absolutely wrong in assigning ארצות (arzot) = united. 2. Translate "Finite State Machine" אוטומט סופי אוטומט = automaton סופי = final So the translation to Hebrew gives finite state machine = final automaton Which far from ideal. 3. Okay, may be I should try "finite-state machine", which gives me סופית של מצב המכונה Which means Finality of the machine state 4. Okay, I should not be greedy and so lower my expectation. I tried "finite-state". Yipee, it gave me a good response מצב סופי 5. Now I understand that the translator needs some hints. So, I tried my (finite-state) machine The response was שלי (מצב סופי) מכונה Which is something like saying (finite-state) machine my It should be י (מצב סופי) מכונה שלי (ignore the yud at right. I had to place it there to induce this LTR window to work as RTL in displaying separators/parentheses). מזל טוב! גוגל --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Translate" group.
