I am afraid I don't know how to. I have a number of ideas but they pertain to Arabic. The basic problem is that Google does not seem to do any grammatical analysis of any description. When I was at school learning languages, particularly Latin we were taught to parse. One you have parsed you can then start translating.
If you want grammar you do not use GT, what you need is a dictionary which you look up the words in. What I could recommend is to take a passage, apply GT and then take a Chinese dictionary which will give you parts of speech. I have taken the Buchwalter Arabic dictionary, I have written a C++ program which looks up words in a hash table and determines part of speech. It is something I am interested in, it is not something you can do trivially. It then does a complete parse of Arabic by maximising entropy, that is to say the entropy of n-grams. I could let you have my program, there is nothing terribly secret about it. It is envisaged to be open source eventually. However there is this rider. It is Arabic not Chinese. The ideas might be useful in Chinese, but as I said non trivially. I am sorry not to have been of more help. - Ian Parker On 4 Nov, 17:12, "charles mclean" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > this still doesn't help.
