Yeah, the browser has internet connectivity.  I used the same browser
to test the visualizations on the non-dns server (which only has
outgoing internet connectivity, but I presume this shouldn't be
necessary anyway?) and the server with dns and both incoming and
outgoing internet connectivity.

As I said, the visualization eventually loads after a delay, along
with an HTTP/1.1 408 Request message, so obviously my browser isn't
having trouble getting jsapi and co. from google.  It just seems like
jsapi (or one of its components) is maybe trying to do a reverse
lookup on the server's address while loading?
