OK Thanks.  So just to be clear...just looking for consistent
functionality.  Adding an option to display the range would seem to
provide the end user the decision on what makes sense for their
application.  As well, it seems inconsistent that the range shows up
sometimes (i.e. when I drag the bars on the bottom).

For the hover, i could see just displaying the date, but defaulting
back to displaying the range when i'm not hovering a specific date.
