I've noticed that when using the AnnotatedTImeLine (ATL) in Internet
Explorer (IE) 6 and 7, that the Flash widget has more problems
releasing memory than when run in Firefox 3.0.8 on the same Windows
box. To be fair, I'm updating the data in the graph every 10 sec, and
it gets to be between 300 and 1000 rows in the DataTable per update.

Yeah, it's a lot of data.

But in Firefox 3.0.8 the Flash Player 10 (latest release) works fine
for hours and hours. But hit the same page in IE 6 or 7 and it'll die
in about an hour and a half (roughly). I can plot the memory usage,
and in the case of IE, it's constantly rising, while in Firefox it's
stable.

Same box - Windows XP.

So my question is this: is this a known issue with the ATL, and is it
being worked on? Or is this a problem with the Flash Player and IE,
and there's nothing to be done in the ATL's code itself?

I'm just trying to see if I have any hope of allowing IE 6 or 7 to my
users, or if I have to tell them it's a ticking time bomb, and use
Firefox.

Thanks so much for the great tools, they have been a joy to work with.
