All intellj IDEs (like Idea or Pycharm) are also pretty good when it comes
to JavaScript development. They have reduced price licenses for open source
projects and academia.

I happened to use PyCharm quite a lot and, although is technically a python
ide, it has a great JavaScript editor.

For JavaScript development, ide support is still lacking (compared to what
you get for statically typed languages) so I'd still give plain old editors
like vi, emacs or textmate a try (vi fits all my charts coding needs). You
may find yourself equally productive in a lighter environment.
