I apologize for not reading more carefully at the beginning. Because I run 
Wordpress sites standalone rather then through wordpress.com I answered based 
on the standalone approach. None of that applies if you're running a blog on 
wordpress.com because you can't change any of the code in the background as I 
was suggesting.

I suspect what you're trying to do cannot work, since not only do the charts 
need javascript, they specifically need Google's javascript.
