Google Charts is, alas, all about coding. The designs show no understanding of statistical graphics, data analysis, or quantitative reasoning. Indeed, many examples are actively hostile to data thinking. PPT graphics, which are lousy, are better than Google charts. Excel has far better graphics, which isn't saying much. To begin, take at look at R, for statistical graphics designed and programmed by serious statisticians. And read *The Visual Display of Quantitative Information, *also written by a statistician.
