Yes. In fact, my own experience with the preview edition (see http://www.dynamicalsoftware.com/cogenuity/integration/google/wave) has been that the only way for firefox users to be able to authenticate with the embedded wave is when they use authenticate with the site via Google Friend Connect.
There's really nothing that you need to do. Just implement both technologies and the rest happens auto-magically.
