Because they would have different GAV, you'd still have a conflict; and 
because you had a conflict and GWT depends on a specific version of the JDT 
(because it depends on its internal APIs), you'd have to exclude the dep 
from Jetty, which would then break Jetty. A rebased JDT within gwt-dev 
wouldn't have this issue.
