Andrej, the widgets are amaizing, i am a fresh GWT developer and I've done some basic Composites, but not as close as yours. I have some questions though :)
1. What are your reasons for coding server side in PHP? Didn't you use GWT's RPC methods? (I'm not very familiar with PHP, but as far as I know, u need servlets to comunicate through RPC). 2.
