Check it with Safari. Browsers don't render JavaScript, they execute it. The JS affects the DOM, and the DOM gets rendered.
It's possible that Chrome's JS engine is misbehaving and not setting up the DOM correctly. Chrome is marginally different to Safari, but if anything, the differences should be corrections. I haven't noticed anything amiss with http://examples.roughian.com when using Chrome, and that uses quite a few of the different types if widget.
