You may be on to something with the JDK/JRE thing here, but I wouldn't
expect it to be an intermittent problem.

To verify which version of Java Eclipse is using, go to
Window->Preferences->Java->Installed JREs. Make sure that the list
includes the JDK you want to use, and you'll probably want to make
that one the default (check the box next to it).

Now in your run/debug configuration, check the JRE tab and make sure
you're using the right JRE there. You may end up with multiple
configurations for the same project depending on how you ran it, so
check them all.

Another thing to look for is: does your run configuration specify an
HTML document? Sometimes the GWT plugin doesn't find my page and just
gives me a run configuration with a blank URL.
