I've been working on a gwt project for 3-4 months in my spare time.
The problem is that working alone is no fun and I need someone to talk
to about this project idea. Below is a summary of the project:
1. Motivation
"Each time I want to play fifa with someone online I need to enter
in some IRC or DC++ chat rooms and ask there if someone wants to play
with me".
This approach is a little bit uncomfortable. First of all you need
to install IRC orDC++ , find what IRC channels or DC++ hubs refer to
fifa pc game, enter in the public chat rooms, write in each of them
"Hey, who wants to play fifa 2009 with me?", etc. I found on the web
some alternatives but they are not so easy to use.
2. Solution
A web application (written entirely in gwt) which helps you find
different game players for online playing. The steps you will need to
do for finding a player:
a) Enter the www.xyz.com in your web browser
b) Choose a specific game you want to play online
c)See what players are connected for that specific game and are
available for playing online. Here you can chat with them.
d) After you received the IP from the player just open the game
and play.
The application can be more complex after more people use it. For
example we can implement different real-time tournaments for different
specific games.
The main technology used in this app is the cometd implementation from
Jetty.
The application is already ready but I want to add to it more features
and I need other people to involve and help me.
