Is this a developer question or for the convenience of regular users. For regular users i cant quite see how this is probably use to them. They are never going to get a complete snapshot that is of any use. However if you want to get a snapshot of the DOM as HTML there are plenty of plugins for FireFox - google for "View Page Source" etc.
