Thanks for the reply, so am I correct in saying that if I want to use
v3 I must check it out at and contribute at:
 
http://code.google.com/p/gwt-google-apis/source/browse/#svn/changes/vinays/gwt-google-maps-v3

Any Idea of the time frame (I know the standard Google answer is NO,
but a hint maybe ;-) )
