It briefly seemed like this might have had an impact (I failed to reproduce the same error state with the Ion Monkey flags set to false), but then I couldn't reproduce it after a reset with the ion monkey flags turned on, and discovered that /other/ selects are now similarly broken, and that that's true with the Ion Monkey flags set to false as well.
