I noticed that it's hard to understand these reasons by people that have their focus on "Hello world" app's or hardly touch enterprise alike GWT app's... BTW: for none enterprise app's, I use others JS frameworks like JQuery. GWT: heavier business logica (= call it Enterprise app's or some other beautiful trendy name), share with backend...
