IThe Ubuntu family 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) was the last version that was
available for PPC computers because of a serious flaw in encoding the
cryptographic libraries that had been found.

The last official PPC version was Ubuntu 6.06.2 (Dapper Drake) which
had Long Term Support (LTS).  You can get these at:

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/7.10/release/
http://ubuntu.cs.utah.edu/releases/6.06/

However, Apple's venture into the joint Intel/PPC architecture has
brought rumours that they are not going to support the Quicksilver
machines soon, nor any Mac OS prior to Leopard.  That being so, you
would be better off getting Debian 5.0 ("Denny"); its the distro on
which Ubuntu is based. it doesn't use the sudo system nor Ubuntu's
repositories but these are the only major differences, and they have a
PPC version:
