The newest WINE works great and supports more apps than ever before.
I believe they are up to version 1.0 now.

On a bigger box (than my Sylvania G) I was even able to run the Trainz
simulator with WINE.
A note though, the desktop & menu icons WINE creates for the apps you
install do not work (more often not), but going to the hidden .wine
directory under your /home/user area, you can find the binaries
(windows executables) and right click on the and "open with WINE"
