Hi, thanks for the reply (much appreciated as I am new to *nix)
Anyway the apt-get won't work as I don't have ethernet either
(weirdly)
Is there a way to copy the required files to the machine (from USB)
and install make from there?
Some kind of local repository?
(not sure if what I'm asking is possible)
I have the correct driver for Ubuntu 8.04 and I have installed it on a
standard 8.04 but of course it had 'make' installed!
I will check out that WiFio Radar when I get it working too, thanks.

Cheers
J
