1. The volume sliding bar disappeared from the setting. A known problem, the graphics for sliding buttons seems to be missing, all programs with slides have the problem. Including the complete mixer ( "GNOME-alsamixer") you can install with Synaptic if you need (much) more complete audio controls.
2. Before upgrade from gOS 2.9 escape, my computer has a little webcam... Specific to the g-book, gOS 3 is a generic dirstribution, not geared toward a specific device like the g-book. It's probably just a matter of installing the right software, but I am not privy to any details. 3. Firefox cannot play flash video.... I know, I had the same exact problem, and complained here already, it will be fixed with a future update... In the mean time start Synaptic, and click on the search button and enter "adobe flashplugin", Synaptic should find "flashplugin-nonfree" . Install that and you should be able to watch YouTube etc. The whole thing is explained in the "YouTube does not work, says I have "javascript turned off", or have an older flash player. " question you can find here. 4. Cannot find the option to edit the gOS dock Its probably because you are unaware the dock is called the "Wbar", its configuration program is in the utilities section, NOT in the preferences menu. The simplest way to use it is to open the program, on the left side you will find a row of icons corresponding to the installed icons. Now to add a new entry, open the menu, and drag one of the mini icons of a program to this area with big icons, and drop it there, a new Wbar icon will appear where you have dropped the small icon. Now save the configuration, and the new launcher icon should appear. You can also delete unused icons with this program, or create them "from scratch".
