try using the built in partition manager ("gparted") that you can find
on the live_cd (in the system preferences menu's), to completely
remove the hard-disk partitions that are on your hard-disk. Perhaps
you need to do a "swapoff" to unlock the swapfile before its deleted.
Then if everything is deleted, and all is turned to free space, reboot
