Hi Folks,

how can I install a newer nvidia-driver in gOS 3.0? I've tried two
methods which I know from other Ubuntu-systems but both failed.

1. Have enabled the driver via the Ubuntu restricted hardware dialog.
--> this installed the 169.12 driver but this one regulary hangs on my
system (even under other distributions like OpenSuSe or Sabayon),
that's why I need the newer driver 173.14.12. This runs smoothly under
all distributions.

2. Then I tried envyng to install the 173.14.12-driver (I have used
this wonderful script on two other Ubuntu-distris to upgrade the
driver). But without a result, I get a screen saying that I am running
with low resolution and then the system hangs. It seems that the
driver module and the kernel do not fit together...

Is there any gOS-specific way to do this?

Thanks for any help. I have an Asus Geforce 8 graphics card.
