for those who do not know how to switch themes, its trivially simple! >From the menu select System Preferences > Preferences > Appearance Then on the "theme" tab select "Human-clearlooks" and apply.
The theme of the desktop changes to one with more browns, and other small changes, and now you will be able to see the sliders. That is all.
