After reading hundred of posting in different forums, try a few suggestions that I can understand and follow, still cannot correct the situation.
I read that the problem is "ubuntu the 2.6.24 kernel and the current version of ALSA available on Ubuntu Hardy Heron does not have the mixer options for headphone". Stranght that not too many people mentioned on this gOS group, let alone suggesting solution. Would any one know how to fix the problem? Will gOS provide update to fix it? A Laptop without headphone option is less than useful.
