Thank for your suggestion but my sound card is VIA VT82xx. (the program does not show the exact model number, just VT82xx). Did not see Pulse Sound Server or anything else in device selection in any audio related program.
My alsamixeer shows verison 1.0.16 and the alsa-project.org shows available 1.0.17 but synaptic manager does not update to that. How do I get synaptic to show 1.0.17 so I can update alsamixer to it?
