To just SET the wbar to the lft side you do not need to use the command line, just run the WbarConf in Accessories.
You could not find it, but it is there all-right, just choose (from the menu bar) "File", then "Settings" for the "command line settings" menu. Then choose top from the fifth entry "Position on the screen (- pos)". Then click on the "Refresh" button, and the wbar will move to the top. Problem is, it isn't persistent! Even if you use the "save" function, the wbar will be back at the bottom after you reboot the system. This happens because you are running the WbarConf program without super user rights. When you use the method RotFuchs (German for red fox I assume) it asks for your password, (the sudo part takes care of that), so it does not have that problem. A few tips, if you choose "left" or "right" as positions you also need to add -vbar (for vertical bar), or the bar will still be horizontal! To save a file from the nano editor type Ctrl-o then press enter, to exit press Ctrl-x. p.s. I also tried to do a sudo wbarconf and it seemed to work, only.... it did not, after a reboot the wbar was back to its old place, it seems to save to a different file, one that is overruled/overwritten by the file RotFuchs is using ( wbar_delay.sh ).
