What is wrong with this Pendrivelinux set of instructions on my usb stick is a MBR problem. Because i've previously tried to install live Sitlaz on this usb stick. Sitlaz worked well but with GRUB. (Slitaz is not as friendly as gOS for a newbie). The Pendrivelinux set does not replace the usb stick's MBR. When starting, the stick's boot show "grub messages" loading attempt - ending with an error message-, instead of syslinux prompt ! I have to add a command like cat or dd if=/syslinux/mbr/mbr.bin of=/ dev/sdb. Sometime I've to add an "umount" command before some instructions of Pendrivelinux set, some of these wich are towards stick.
Now, I have a new problem. syslinux loads wmlinuz, then initrd.gz but system stop just after. If cdrom live is in the computer it continue instead the stick. I think I've forgot something that I've to looking for.... In two or more live I'd able to help you Mahjong Thank you On 3 nov, 18:09, mahjongg <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Not sure why the instructions on the pendrivelinux web-site would not > be what you were looking for. > > Pendrivelinux has two sets of instructions > > an (updated) set of instructions on how to create a simple bootable > USB stick with > gOS:http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/03/13/usb-gos-install-from-windows/ > > OR > > If you do not want to use Windows or if you want a "persistent" > Live_USB (one that remembers changes you made, even after a re-boot) > use these > instructions:http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2008/05/27/usb-gos-persistent-install-fr... > > On 3 nov, 17:25, "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" > > > > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Is any topic except penrdivelinux treating about gOS on usb stick ? > > It seems to be the smartest way to resolve hardware problem for nomad > > people as me. > > Is it any other OS designed for such complete functions available on > > maximum kind of hardware ?- Masquer le texte des messages précédents - > > - Afficher le texte des messages précédents - --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "gOS Linux" group.
