The problem that you are coming up against is that unless your Mac is
an Intel/PPC version, gOS won't load. It won't load on PPC based Macs.

One reason for this is that gOS is based on Ubuntu, and the last
version of Ubuntu that had PPC support was 6.06 - well before gOS came
along. Another reason is that gOS developers (unfortunately in my
view) have said they will not support PPC. Nor will they support a KDE
version.

So - for you on your Mac - a link may be good but you will not be able
to run anything you've downloaded unless you have an Intel-based Mac,
which the error message you are getting suggests you do not. What you
will download will be an .iso file, which is an image which you can
save to a CD or DVD. If you look at the file, you will see folders and
files which, when on a CD or DVD will be bootable on an Intel based Mac.

I've found some of the links are more reliable than others, but most
links work well - when they work. But once you have the .iso file, you
probably have a Mac on which it will not run.

If you have a PPC Mac, you should try one of the distributions listed
on http://www.penguinppc.org which has the most up-to-date information
on Linux for the PPC architecture.
