Ok I did it!! Thanks for all the help guys. After reading some things I realized that I tried to remove the DOS-boot MBR to make the pendrive Linux bootable for FlashLinux; but never finished the process. I believe this is why gparted had problems reading the usbstick. After installing a new partition using fdisk, it corrected the issue in the process.
