X-windows? Anyway I tried booting in "safe video mode" no differens at all. I also tried the other choices you got, noapic, nolapic edd=on, and different combinations of them, all with the same end-result. Is there some kind of command i can type in to start this X-windows thing? I'm gonna try the cd on my desktop computer to see what happens.
