No more smooth - just different and has its adherants.

Red Hat uses the .rpm (RedHat Packet Manager) system for which the term
"dependency hell" was coined years ago.  gOS uses the Ubuntu system, a
fork of the Debian project, which uses the .deb system.

Personally, I don't like Fedora or any other variety of Red Hat's
systems but don't let that put you off - choice is what Linux is all
about.
