There is none, if you are running gOS 2.9 or earlier, and are offered and upgrade, simply refuse it.
If you are running gOS 3.0 or 3.1 you shouldn't be offered an upgrade, unless you mucked about with the software sources, and added a repository with 8.10 code manually.
