No it would "be shown at the CES", nothing is known about when (if
ever) it will be released (as a download).
Because it is implemented as a "BIOS extension" (in Flash ROM), it
will probably only be available integrated into new systems at first.
If it ever is released as a download, it won't (cannot) boot as fast
as the BIOS-ROM version shown at the CES, so it will lose some of its
appeal, it will still boot much faster than a normal OS though, just
not nearly as fast as a built in version.

You could have tried it if you had visited the CES, now you probably
have to wait until new netbooks come on the market that feature it.
Sorry :-(

Maybe some new video about it will appear on YouTube, so you can have
a better look at it, or go to a shop that has the new Asus nettop, it
features something similar, although probably not as good/fast booting
I tried it and I was disappointed about it taking almost as much time
to start working with it as booting a regular Linux system. An
"instant on" system should be just that, you should be able to start
using it after seconds, rather than minutes. Ten seconds should be a
good goal to strive for.
