That doesn't seem to be possible, at least not without expert knowledge and a lot of time. The new kernel probably will break a lot of stuff, and if you try to do the classic upgrade that is possible with Ubuntu you will probably end up with a broken system. gOS is build on top of a "long term stable" version, and it seems that is done for a reason.
