 this sorting scheme is especially bad in the "fukuzawa"
 archive, where many of the msgs are coming from Japan which is
 some 17 hours ahead of the USA.

 so it seems many new messages are put in really weird places.

 (sorry this msg is short.
 is a short msg a problem in [EMAIL PROTECTED], like the annoying 
 "I disagree." and "good point!" one-liners in mailing lists?)
