Thank you for your comments and your stand on freedom of speech. It
seems, however, that you were misinformed. Brendon Eich was not fired,

that the controversy was damaging for the mission of Mozilla.
By the number and content of these posts it looks like his stepping down
is more damaging.
A user testing out KMail, KNode, Konversation, not sure what feed reader
or calendar, and Konquerer as replacements for Mozilla products.

Mozilla prides itself on being held to a different standard and, this
past week, we didn’t live up to it. We know why people are hurt and
angry, and they are right: it’s because we haven’t stayed true to
ourselves."
"Our organizational culture reflects diversity and inclusiveness. We
welcome contributions from everyone regardless of age, culture,
ethnicity, gender, gender-identity, language, race, sexual orientation,

all."
So you have to be the 'right' kind of diverse.
That a person can be hounded out of a job for making a legitimate
contribution to a public initiative on a topic that is still in play is
reprehensible. Make no mistake this has fundamentally changed my view of
Mozilla, for the worse.
We will keep fighting the good fight for freedom of speech, for privacy
and for the open web. It is my hope that Brendan will keep contributing
to this fight, whether as part of Mozilla or as part of some other
venture.
Best regards,
David
