In such a case, whether or not the firestorm grew to the point at
which the CEO eventually decided to resign, I do think there would
have been, early on, a strong statement from the top level at Mozilla
saying that Mozilla believes such pressure is wrong or at least that
it's misguided and counter to Mozilla's principles of inclusion.

I believe that the top people at Mozilla do believe it's wrong, and
obviously many other Mozillians do, but we never got such a statement
from the top.  So far, in the aftermath, we've gotten only a
mistakes-were-made statement;  I hope that eventually there will be
some statement about what the mistakes were, and that it will
address this.
