Mozilla's decision to remove your CEO
Vince,
Thank you for caring enough to write to us.
While the press has commonly and incorrectly reported that Mozilla has
removed our CEO, that happens to not be the case. There is an FAQ at
https://blog.mozilla.org/blog/2014/04/05/faq-on-ceo-resignation/ that
lays out some of the facts of the matter. Unfortunately, these facts
have been largely misrepresented in the press coverage.
By calling for the resignation of your CEO
Mozilla as an organization did not call for Brendan's resignation. In
particular, the board did not.
These calls came from the media, from external advocacy groups, and from
a literal handful (as in, five) of employees. Many more employees than
that spoke out in support of Brendan as CEO. Unfortunately, the press
had a story to sell, and "Employees oppose new CEO" makes for a much
better story than "Vast majority of employees supports new CEO while a
few are opposed".
If you are willing to take the time to read it,
http://blog.gerv.net/2014/04/your-ire-is-misdirected/ has a more
extensive discussion on the subject. I hope that after reading it you
will reconsider your position on dropping support for Mozilla.
Thank you for taking the time to read through that,
Boris
