Why are you so certain? I don't mean to be rude with that question, I
am genuinely curious why you think that is.

Last week, I witnessed meetings in which the members of the board
explained that they pleaded with Brendan to stay on in some capacity,
repeatedly, to the point where he got angry with them. I wasn't in the
room when this happened, so I can't prove it's true. But it is
information directly from the people who were in the room.

Actually, you *can* do more to demonstrate your displeasure than just
change your browser. For example, you've emailed this list -- and
thanks for taking the time to do so; it's important that we understand
our users' reactions.

More broadly, anyone can contribute to the Mozilla project. Literally
anyone! A large chunk of the work developing Firefox and other
products is done by volunteers. And you don't need the ability to
program -- there are lots of other things that people do, such as
translating Firefox into other languages, and providing Firefox users
with technical support. The Mozilla *project* is much bigger than just
the Mozilla *corporation*. Please read the Mozilla project manifesto
(http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/manifesto/) to get a better idea
of what all these people are contributing to.

If you are unhappy with the way the Mozilla corporation's board has
acted, that's understandable, and you are perfectly within your rights
to switch browsers in protest. But it's worth understanding that this
is a decision that affects many people beyond the board, who don't
work for the board, and who have never met the board.

Thanks for listening.

Nick
