Please note that neither module ownership nor module peer is not given based on who we expect will work on something. It's based on who has deep knowledge and experience with a piece of code.
Owner vs. Peer is a very small difference. Basically the only difference is that it's the owners responsibility to add and remove peers as needed, and to find a new owner if the owner wants to step down. Code-wise owners and peers have effectively as much say since if owners and peers can't agree the decision goes to Brendan Eich (which has very rarely happened). / Jonas On Fri, Sep 26, 2014 at 8:54 PM, Tim Chien <[email protected]> wrote: > Well, the context is only Ricky is expected to work on Gaia::Build > full time, and this "normalization" simply happen by accident at the > same time personal transition took place. > > Unless any of the proposed co-owners offer his registration, I don't > see what else I could do to reduce the # of co-owners. > > On Sat, Sep 27, 2014 at 1:24 AM, Kyle Huey <[email protected]> wrote: >> It's quite unusual to have a module with four owners ... you should >> pick one to be the owner and designate the rest as peers. >> >> - Kyle >> >> On Fri, Sep 26, 2014 at 3:23 AM, Tim Chien <[email protected]> wrote: >>> Amendment: adding George Duan as co-owner of the module. >>> >>> On Fri, Sep 26, 2014 at 3:35 PM, Tim Chien <[email protected]> wrote: >>>> + dev-gaia & +dev-goverance, please take the conversation to dev-goverance. >>>> >>>> Hi all, >>>> >>>> For a long time Gaia have a relative isolated component distinct to >>>> all apps, but it bears the important work to actually generate app >>>> packages which all Gaia apps is running on. >>>> >>>> We have a Gaia::Build component in Bugzilla but we never officially >>>> make it a Mozilla open source project module.
