Currently @mozilla.org aliases and accounts are for original @mozilla.org
folks (a handful of people) and were for sometime used by foundation but
that practice stopped AFAIK otherwise they are assigned anymore. There has
been discussion over the years of allowing both contributors and projects
inside of the Mozilla umbrella to have aliases but that discussion has not
resulted in anything but proposals and no ownership of actually making it
happen.
Most recently Mike Hoye made a proposal but I think the reason a lot of
discussion is happening and not any action is the lack of approval from
leadership and the lack of ownership from IT.
I think this is a different case in that it's not an individual person's
account, but rather an account that represents a group at Mozilla (similar
to a mailing list).
I'm not sure what others think, but I certainly don't see a problem with
using e.g. [email protected] for such cases.
