I have uploaded our SNOMEDCT metadata to babel.. Note that I put this in
its own metadata table due to the nature of the beast (size and style)
rather than embed it in the UNMC_TERMS table.
Several points:
* The metadata itself is large (7.4 million rows) but browses reasonably
well.
* The finding of child concept codes is accomplished via the use of the
[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transitive_closure#In_graph_theory
transitive closure graph] (expressed as a database table) rather than
'LIKE' searches. This yields better efficiency at i2b2 runtime (among
other advantages)
On babel, look in the UNMC section of metadata - the SNOMEDCT sections are
labeled as such.
Next up - publishing the code/files to create the metadata/transitive
closure table.
