We might be crossing some streams... but maybe in a useful way. #647 is about collecting entire copies of CDM datamarts for integration into GROUSE for Aim 3. SAS datasets should work there.
I think Brian's question is about collecting subsets of CDM tables, filtered by the RCR cohort. (#659<https://informatics.gpcnetwork.org/trac/Project/ticket/659> for #660<https://informatics.gpcnetwork.org/trac/Project/ticket/660>) Maybe SAS datasets are appropriate there too... I dunno. -- Dan ________________________________ From: Gpc-rcr [gpc-rcr-boun...@listserv.kumc.edu] on behalf of Verhagen, Laurel A [verhagen.lau...@marshfieldresearch.org] Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2017 1:55 PM To: Gryzlak, Brian M; gpc-dev@listserv.kumc.edu; gpc-...@listserv.kumc.edu Subject: Re: [Gpc-rcr] CDM table export question Hi Brian, I talked with Dan about this a little at the LEC. Our plan was to zip the SAS datasets that we use for running PCORnet queries and send them via the KUMC Secure FTP site for RCR. We would likely need to add a processing step to ensure that the correct study IDs were sent. https://informatics.gpcnetwork.org/trac/Project/ticket/647 Let me know if we need to explore a different approach? Potential issues we are anticipating include file size limitations, data export errors (e.g., using a delimiter that is also included in a field value), etc. Currently our understanding is that most or all sites are using SQL Server or Oracle databases. So we are hoping to issue guidance on these platforms and the running option seems to be CSV file format. Is anyone aware of standards issued by PCORnet that may address the preferred means by which CDM files should be exported for eventual consumption by SQL? Or does anyone have experience in exporting CDM tables for consumption by another party? Thanks, Brian Brian M.
